Sickening: Arsenal 1 Wolves 0

It's hard to take.

It's hard to take that it's the second time Mariner has sent off one of our players unfairly away to a top four team, hard to take that it should not have been five minutes of added time and most of all, hard to take that they scored so late on.

We defended brilliantly, for ninety four minutes but a lot of things in the build up cost us. Keogh trying the shot from the half way line, nobody trying to block the cross and a mix up between the defenders of marking Bendtner.

I can't deny they deserved the win, but what angered me is that at any other ground that would not have been a red. It was because it was Arsenal and the way they react to being tackled. Rosicky's theatrics were disgusting, and the way they all surrounded Henry was disgusting. They were more interested in what colour card Henry received than if Rosicky was ok, which he was.

The best player on the pitch for me was our loan man, Mancienne. He worked so hard, and it summed up his game when he ran the length of the pitch to block a shot after they had scored. The other star for me was Hahnemann. He made at least three great saves and Wenger even mentioned how good he was.

There are plenty of positives to take from this game. More than the negatives, which there were few. We must be proud that for ninety four minutes we matched the best footballing side in the world.

Hahnemann - 8

Zubar - 7
Craddock - 7
Berra - 7
Elokobi - 7

Foley - 7
Henry - 7
Mancienne  - 9
Jones - 7
Jarvis -7

Doyle - 7

Subs: Keogh - 6, Edwards - 6, Ward - 6

If we defend like that every week we won't be losing many games. Let's hope we can carry on our good form into the Stoke game, which could be massive.

  1. Too right, we could have and should have had a point.

Odd substitutions, Mick trying to be clever again.

Nevr a sending off, and we tired and one of the reasons we conceded.

Superb by the boys. Hats off to them, play like that next week and we should get a result. Glad the others lost two, same table and one less game.

I hope we never have Mariner again!

  3. Whle watching it I knew we would concede in injury time, especially when I saw the stupid added on time.

And I thinkg f*cking Keogh should be shot!

I think Mr Wenger has the referees in his pocket. All this 'Please don't injure my delicate players' rubbish. Gallas on Mark Davies, Mr Wenger. Remember that one? No you probably didn't see it, did you?
Why wasn't Vermaelen booked for pushing the skipper in the chest? Why is no one upset about 7 changes by Arsenal?
    All very suspicious

  5. Karl has got it spot on! He came out with this. It would be a joke if it isn't rescined, but my guess is it won't.

I couldn't have put it better myself. The skipper describes it perfectly

  7. How can you possibly think Henry's appalling assault on Rosicky was not worthy of a red card? You and your manager should start trying to play a bit more proper football instead of trying to kick the teams that do off the pitch. Is it any surprise that you are in a relegation battle with an attitude like that? Your team started wasting time after only ten minutes, Henry stamped on Walcott and the only reason you weren't thrashed out of sight by the time your captain was deservedly dismissed was poor finishing by our reserve strikers. I hope you get relegated and replaced in the prem by a team who tries to play real football like, say, Doncaster.

  8. Teams that get promoted and try to play just football are the ones who get relegated, red Ant. Wigan aren't out of it.

If you have watched Wolves at all this season you will realise we play decent footy but also mix it with a bit of grit and determination. That was West Br*m's problem last season.

  9. Wasting time? Arsenal play quick football and the more we slow it down the less they can play.

Problem for Arsenal is that this isn't a magical world where we come and play how you want us to play and get battered.

Please look at what nearly all the neutrals have said, not a red

  10. It's thugs like these who should be kicked out of the game. The likes of Henry, Shawcross and Taylor (all english, what a suprise) do not deserve to be in the premier league.

You defended well but that was all you did, defend

  11. Thugs, Henry's first ever red card! And it shouldn't have been. He comes in from the side, his feet are on the floor and Rosicky rolls around ( a real sign that players are injured, ey?)

Still angry about Shawcross's challenge which also wasn't a red! arsenal need to stop whinging and get o with the game, maybe they would have more chance of winning a trophy if they did,

  12. It's amazing that these wusses can take a foul. Yes A FOUL but no way a red card.

Arsenal are the biggest bunch of whingers ever, you seem to think the world is against you but you are f*cking wrong!

    Man up for gods sake

  13. Man up? Football isn't about kicking lumps out of each other like your side were doing to us!

It's a bad tackle, a dangerous one which is why our players react. It's a clear red.

Shawcross almost recked his career and you are telling me it's not a red. Sooner your team gets relegated the better.

  14. Shame for you then, because WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED.

Can't wait for the next time we play you, gonna be great at our place when you come.

Henry is spot on with his comments, and has gone up in my estimation afer that.

  15. Only the draw of the FA/League cup will see us playing at your shitty ground mate.

You won't win another game this season.

Please don't get me started on grounds. Our has atmosphere, unlike your new library.

For the record, we don't have to win another game. four draw will be enough

  17. at least we have some fans to fill it(and another 40,000 in the queue - which it costs to join - for season tickets)

Wolves are actually in plans to build the stadium further and make it a 40.000 stadium. If we are in the mid table of the premier league we would fill it. We have filled our stadium every home game of the season. And probably have the best away support in the league.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes if we are in the middle of the premier league we would fill 40,000 easily but the question is, would Arsenal fill their stadium in mid-table?

  20. Lovely to see arsenal get stuffed.

On other messageboards they were complaining about ref giving Barca benefit of doubt, so funny!

  21. Fantastic top see both arsenal and United go out with some dodgy decision as well!

Louie, I see a new newsnow logo in the right column. Have you got on there?
