Ins & Outs

I'm sure there will be many players leaving Wolves, and a few coming in. In fact, we've already signed two for next year, and let go or sold four.

 Ins
Mujangi Bia - Given another chance
Adlene Guedioura - A good bit a business. When we got him on loan we had an option to buy him and we took that option. At around £500k, that's incredibly cheap. For someone who has shone in his first few months in English football, he can get even better.

Geoffrey Mujangi Bia - Our other loan signing from Charleroi. Instead of signing Geoffrey permanently, we've decided to get him on loan for another year. I think that's a good idea, he impressed in his only Premier League start at Portsmouth and deserves another year. Will be a good player to have in the squad, especially as we are short of right wingers.

Outs

Jason Shackell - Has signed for Barnsley. We signed him in the promotion winning year, for £1 million. He only played around twelve games, three of them starts and the only bits I ever saw of him where when he went in goal after Hennessey was sent off at Preston, and on the tele when Mick brought him on to take a not so long throw in. I doubt we will have got very much for him. Good luck to him in the future.

Daniel Jones, Mark Little and George Friend - All released. Jones and Little came through the academy and both had a lot of promise. Little was a key member of the squad in Mick's first season, and I thought he might be good enough to play in the Premier League. Jones was man of the match in one of his very first games and Mick sung his praises. Could have been a solution to our left back problem when we were in the championship, but definitely not in the Premier League. George Friend was signed at the start of last season, and towards the end came in for the injured Jarvis and helped seal promotion. Hardly featured this season, only started at Old Trafford. Jones will probably sign for Bristol Rovers, Little for Peterborough and Friend for Exeter. All should do well in the future.
Jones - One of four who has left

I expect many more to be sold or released. Players like Halford, Iwelumo, Surman and Maierhofer have hardly featured and when they have played, haven't offered us enough to be top flight players. Hennessey and Stearman now have Premier League experience and might want to be playing first team football (both have been linked with moves to Liverpool).

Players coming in. We've been linked with many forwards. Fletcher from Burnley, Robbie Keane, Goodwillie from Dundee and Kris Boyd have all been mentioned. I think Fletcher might be a good buy, he's young and has been arguably Burnley's best player with twelve goals too.

The Belgian press have almost confirmed that Jelle Van Damme is signing for us. His manager and himself have said he will be signing with us. He's a tall left back, who is good in the air and previously played for Southampton in the Premier League (made six appearances). £2.5 million is the suggested fee. Not much has come from inside Wolves but they are good like that. They only tell us about signings when we have definitely signed them.

Who would you like to see join Wolves, and who do you think will be leaving?

    Get rid of:

    Iwelumo
    Vokes
    Keogh
    Surman
    Ward
    Hof
    Halford

    and sign:
    Van Damme
    Fletcher
    Boyd
    O'Hara
    Belhadj

    Then we will be sorted.

  2. Wouldn't want Boyd, he's useless. Biger clubs will get O'Hara and I have quations marks over Belhadj.

Van Damme has said he is saying, says on SkySports. Sounds good, saw him score a really good overhead kick.

Get rid of the ones Muppet mentioned though apart from Vokes and Ward.

  3. No to Boyd, Fletcher and Belhadj. Keep Keogh and Ward. Sign Robbie and Jelle.

  4. If Van Damme comments like that, Mick won't sign him. Mick doesn't like players to talk out of turn.

Fletcher and Van Damme are both good signings. Doyle and Fletcher sounds good up front.
Robbie Keane would be a signing of another dimension though, but I guess his wage demands rules him out.
Another player I really think we should go for is Pompeys Utaka. A nigerian winger who is really pacey. He's a great counter attack player, which fits our game. I'm concerned we sign players that are just marginally better than those we have. Let's hope our wage structure won't be an obstacle on our search for stardust material

I think Tim is right, has JVD just messed it up for himself? Maybe he's that good that Mick won't care!
Karl, we haven't signed either of them yet. I don;t think Keane would be a good signing. Old, costs a lot and is he as good as people think he is?

One person I would try and get is Stephen Ireland. Dreaming I may be, but he is out of the team at City.

  7. Robbie Keane has been banging the goals in for Celtic but not for Spurs - that I think proves a very big point - No thanks!
Fletcher from Burnley was their top scorer and if he can do that for a relegated team then he would be ok for me!
The Pompey lads are of no interest for me as they could and should have done much better as a team but they let the fans down and that makes me suspicious that they are not good enough - except that is for O'Hara who is a Spurs asset and looks like going to West Ham - silly boy!
As for Boyd, he is a headcase and we do not need anyone of that type at Molineux!
Defence is an area we definitely need to strengthen as Craddock cannot be relied upon to play until he's 50yo but who to replace him? - Steven Taylor from Newcastle!
One player I would get in, Reo-Coker from Villa. Decent player and would add to our light midfield.
Of those to release - Halford, Vokes,
Iwelumo, Hoffmeier, Ward, Keogh and Edwards.

  8. Robbie? I don't think so, although if we did then I guess we'd find out that he's been a Wolves fan all of his life as well as an ex player!!!! Too expensive!!!!

O'Hara? He'd be a great signing, I also agree with PL, Steven Taylor.

Keep Iwelumo though, get rid: The Hoff, Keogh, Ward, Surman & Halford, not sure about Volkes either.

  9. You have got to be kidding about Iwelumo. He is the worst footballer (if you can call him that) at the club. He has no touch, is slow, and doesn;t win ANYTHING in the air. Poor excuse for a footballer I think.

  10. Hmm, good luck to the ones leaving. Alwaysn thought Little and Jones would make it when we were in the championship.

Friend was good last year when we needed him but not good enough for this league. He's going to play in League 1 now, where he should star.

Hopefully Mujangi will get his chance, I think he will have a huge impact. Adlene for 500k is a great deal, imagine how much he'll be worth if he has a good world cup.

The signs are good, Fletcher and Keane are both good players and we'll be lucky to have either of them.

Stop any talk of Stearman leaving.

He is a good versatile player for the future - full stop.

  12. Ok, thanks Stearmans dad....

I agree with Terry. Stearman is a young talented and hardworking player. He is good across the back. But, I think Louie's point was that with him not getting near the team at the moment, and with him being linked with a move to one of England most successful ever teams, he might want to go in order to get first team football (probably not with 'Pool)

Fletcher yes, Keane yes and get Stephen Hunt and we'll be pushing for midtable/top half
