Wolves 2 Sunderland 1

That's more like it!

After the disappointing defeat at Pompey, we needed a good performance to give the fans something to cheer about. We put lots more effort, and the game turned out to be a pretty decent one.

Like the new kit?
It was a high tempo game, we knocked it about well and despite going behind look comfortable for most of the match. There was a little spell where Malbranque hit the post and we came under of pressure but I think we deserved the win.

I was surprised to see Kevin Doyle stepping up to take the penalty. This was another chance for Ebanks-Blake to boost his tally, but I suppose it doesn't matter. Doyle has nine now, and I hope next season he will better that for US. There are rumours linking him with Juventus now!

Jarvis again gave his full back plenty of problems. It was his burst of speed past Hutton that got us the penalty. He was confident today, and almost scored from a really good effort. It was the man on the other flank though that I thought was our best player. Adlene Guedioura has certainly done his chances of playing for us next season no harm at all, I expect him to be in South Africa too after his performance. He doesn't usually play on the right side of midfield yet he looked comfortable there. He had a real battle with Richardson and often beat him. His goal was superb after Zubar's fine interception.

Doyle and Ebanks-Blake did well. Doyle was his usual self and Sylvan was good, bringing others into the game. Our defence was solid throughout, I did wonder if Mick would take Craddock off for a standing ovation but he didn't.

Hahnemann - 7

Guedioura - World Cup bound
Zubar - 7
Craddock - 7
Berra - 7
Elokobi - 7

Guedioura - 9
Henry - 8
Jones - 7 (Edwards - 6)
Jarvis - 8 (Foley - 6)

Doyle - 8 (Iwelumo - 6)
Ebanks-Blake - 7

It was a good way to end the season, well done to the boys and I await MOTD tonight.

WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED!

  1. The new kit is not bad! Doyle on nine is
brilliant, he will get 15 for us next year.

Thought Elokobi once again was superb, used the ball loads better.

Only beat nine men two one!

Atleast we won I guess, don't happen too often.

Big George was a rock and one ball he did was Beckham-esque!

Guedioura is being signed permanently Mick says. However, I hope he doesn't count as one of the three or four signings Mick makes.

  4. Dead important to finish the season like this. Like the home kit, great news on Adlene. It's going to be interesting this summer, as it looks like Mick will be shedding some dead weight - big task.

  5. great finish to the season. 15th is not bad at all for starters. Now we have to bring in the quality necessary to lift us to mid table next season and allow our terrific young team to continue developing in the premier league. If we can do that, the next few years could be a very exciting time to be a wolves fan

  6. Agree dboy, we need a clear out. Many players like Iwelumo, Surman and Halford (many many more).

Great result, great performance. Come on you Wolves.

  7. Have a look here on the link below as I took part in a supporters review of our season. A person from the Irish Examiner contacted me and I gave him the low points, high points and player of the season.
