Wolves v Tottenham preview

This international break felt like the longest there has been, our game v Villa seems like it was ages ago!

Wolves face a confidence drained Tottenham side, with an unhappy Luka Modric and zero points on the board. We know what that means then!

Or do we? It feels like this year we are ready to take advantage of other team's bad luck or poor form.

But even an understrength or less confident Spurs team is still a dangerous one. Gareth Bale is one of the world's best wingers, and he now has a proper target man for his crosses. For all his height, Peter Crouch is not as good in the air as Emmanuel Adebayor and Wolves will have to be wary of him.

As much as Mick claims Jamie O'Hara has nothing to prove, I'm sure Jamie will want to stick a goal or two past his old team. He may feel that he was never given a chance under Harry Redknapp, which I think is an advantage for us. It's going to be vital that him and Karl Henry are at the top of their game.

It's very likely that we will go with the same team for the fourth game running. I'm not sure when the last time that happened, but for me it is a good thing and if we can resist altering the side then we can go from strength to strength.

We've had some entertaining games against Spurs in the last couple of years, I expect this to be similar. We will try not to open the game up, be patient and careful. I think if we can get plenty of crosses in, then we have a chance as that is where Tottenham have had problems so far this season.

  1. No doubt this will be a tough game, And I'm really looking forward to seeing how both Parker and Adebayor fit in to the team.

  3. We will be ten points ahead of Tottenham after tomorrow, another clean sheet and Parker will be outplayed by O'hara.......

    ........I hope

  4. Even a draw here would be a great achievement in my opinion... I'm not so sure that Tottenham will be confident when they're a team predicted to be in the top 6 (Mick McCarthy said that, even!) facing a team that just barely survived last season...

Or maybe that'll just put them under increased pressure! After all, Tottenham fans will be desperate for a win as well - see Bobby's post!

  5. Jamie O'hara is a good lad and a shame he was unable to break into the Spurs first team on a regular basis, hope he doesnt come back to haunt us. The result tomorrow will revolve around whether Modric plays to the best of his ability, if he is back in the fold mentally then i believe we will win, if not we will lose this game and our Whole season could be in ruins before it has even begun.

  6. There is no chance of that happenig but Ady Bale Defoe  Lennon will all score end tour good start . Mick will be in a  big sulk  You wont be able to live with Ady running onto Bales and Lennon's crosses and Wolves energetic game will make Wolves players ill like Utds Fletcher Stearman will be sent off.

  8. Todays game showed why we let O`hara go. No creativity or pace. Also if Karl Henry gets a game for you guys, youre in big trouble. You looked very poor today, can`t see you surviving again.

  9. We were pretty even the first half though from what I've heard - chances for both sides then - Spurs just got the upper hand in the second half.

I don't really see a loss against a top-6 team like Tottenham as a signal that we're going down, by the way
