When we went to the Britannia Stadium, we made one change off the back of a draw against Villa. We dropped Ebanks-Blake who had just scored and brought in Iwelumo to deal with the set pieces and long throws. Mick could easily do that on Sunday. We have to put someone in to replace Henry. He could:
- Stick Guedioura, like for like with a bit more attacking flair
- Put Dave Edwards in. Possibly at right midfield with Foley shifting across into the centre.
- Put a striker in, which would most likely be Iwelumo in to deal with the height, leaving Mancienne and David Jones in the middle.
- Put Milijas in, with Jones slightly more defensive.
I think we have enough to beat Stoke. We can mix it up well. When we have to battle we can, and we can also pass it around and create chances. We need to be ruthless, as you don't get many chances against Stoke.
A big test will be to see how well we defend the throw ins. We conceded from a throw in against them because we weren't marking around the edge of the area. It's little things like those that can help you be a better team. One person I hope doesn't play is Ricardo Fuller. His lightning fast pace worries me against Berra and Craddock, and he has hit form. He has scored two in his last two games, both from the bench. He did pick up a knock in the last game and is also on nine bookings, the most of the premier league strikers.
I reckon the team will be:
Hahnemann

Jody saved us at Stoke with two goals. |
Craddock
Berra

Doyle
2-1 to Wolves. We will go two up and concede making it a torturous last twenty minutes.
0-0 bore draw, you heard it here first (and on MOTD last)
ReplyDeleteA draw is a fine result for me, then we would be looking for one more win. Can see stoke beating us with ease though!
By your standards that is quite optimistic Dunsworth. 1-0, goal in first three minutes by the one and only jody craddock and we hold on for 94more minutes.
ReplyDeleteDoyle has looked a bit tired in last two games, don't blame him but could do with him putting in an extra special performance
3-1 win, our best home performance of the year. Doyle one, Jarvis one and Berra one.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a real fight but we can win this one!
Stoke dont concede many.No chance 3

ReplyDelete1-1 I'm very content with a draw.
Let's all support Fulham! 21 seconds and they scored
another nil-nil home draw, I reckon. As long as we keep edging our way towards safety I'll be happy. Mick's done a good job here and it would be a really tragedy if we were to mess it up now. Not sure his premiership credentials would ever recover. So I sense an extremely cautious outlook over the next few games until we are (in the words of half man half biscuit)mathematically safe.
