Wolves boss wants nine wins

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has issued a rallying cry to his players and set them a new target to avoid Premier League relegation.
The Wolves manager knows his side face a battle to avoid the drop for the second successive season, and they currently sit in the Premier League bottom three.
McCarthy wants his side to win nine games over the rest of the season, and while that may not seem a massive target it has to be remembered they have won only 3 of their 15 games so far.
Last weekend's last-gasp win over Sunderland ensured they ended a run of five games without a win but they did not manage to climb out of the Premier League relegation places  and they will be looking to continue their recent resurgence in form when they face Blackburn this weekend, a match the Premier League tips suggest they can win.
Can this win change our season?
"We need two more wins to get out of the bottom three and our target has to be nine wins from our remaining games," stated McCarthy.
"Hopefully the Sunderland result will be a turning point."
The main problem for Wolves has been scoring goals, but they have not been too great at scoring either throughout the course of the season so far. Anyone looking to bet on Premier League action should remember this.
McCarthy wants his side to stop conceding so many goals, especially through their own mistakes, as he knows from experience that is one thing that can certainly spell Premier League relegation for any struggling team.

  1. Louie, you shouldn't accept these naff posts from betting companies and other sites just looking to get a link. It devalues your blog, which is a real shame when you go to such great effort to produce great content of your own.

....unless of course they're paying you, which they should be for the privilege of what they're doing.

  2. Thanks for sharing your concerns, but I'm happy with what I'm doing on my blog right now.

Nice to see you've been checking the blog.

  3. OK mate, well it was only my intention to help you out.

I always read your blog Louie. Have done for well over a year now. I think you're a great writer and you make some excellent points.

However, this article is an advertisement for a betting company, which has basically been copied and pasted from a news story they found somewhere else. It's lazy and an insult to the good work you do.

Come on Louie, take a look at this paragraph:

"The main problem for Wolves has been scoring goals, but they have not been too great at scoring either throughout the course of the season so far. Anyone looking to bet on Premier League action should remember this."

If you're telling me you think that does justice to your excellent blog, that's absolutely fine.

Like you say, it's your site and you can do what you like. It's just my opinion, but I think it's a great shame.

  4. I know, and I can see where you are coming from.

I do know that it is an advertisement for a betting company. They emailed me asking if they could write articles with links to their website. For me, at a time where I hadn't been posting too much (technical problems), I felt this was a good idea that would help get more views and perhaps more activity on the blog.

Again, thanks for the concern. This isn't something I'm looking at long term but just for the meantime.
