O'Hara signs for Wolves

At least some good news came out of today.

Wolves completed the loan signing of Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara after the poor defeat to Stoke. I like this signing, I think he will add more bite and creativity to our midfielder. I like the idea of him and Milijas next to each other, with Henry holding. That's a good enough midfield for sure.

And yes, I think we need to play five midfielders now. We just don't get the ball down when we play two up front, and our worst performances this season have come with making the switch to two strikers.

And yes our summer signing Steven Fletcher might be warming the bench, but he's a good back up to have if Kevin Doyle gets injured.

This might not be the end of our business in the transfer window either. I'm sure we are still looking for a defender, which we could do with. I don't think the Woodgate deal is over either, as he will probably be told he's not going to be getting games.

  1. wether its woodgate, faye or whoever we cant possibly stay up with the back 4 we have... really happy to have ohara in - and completely agree its time to switch back to 451 as we dont have the quality behind the two up front to warrant 442

  2. formation is irrelevant.while this clueless muppet mcCarthy continues to stubbornly pick his favourites regardlesss of form (or even ability) we've got no chance of staying up. Come on Morgan, earn your money. Make a big decision. Get rid of Mccarthy now!

What a catastrophic time to sack a manager it would be right now. Even if you think Big Mick isn't up to the job, surely you must see that the immediately destabilising impact of a change of the man in charge at this point of the season would not help. Big Mick has no apparent enemies within the camp, you very rarely (if ever) hear any murmurings of dissent amongst the squad (even from those who have left). What about our much vaunted 'spirit'? where does that come from if not from the manager? I think those calling for the manager's head didn't like him in the first place and the majority (yes I heard them singing supermick at the chelsea match) can see the way the long term plan is unfolding and that mick is the first manager of our club in decades who has improved performances year on year

  4. O'hara is a very good player, did very well for Portsmouth and I hope he does well for us.
I believe that we don't need to change formation, we just need to keep playing nice football, which we can do and O'hara can do too.
