Can Wolves finish off a week that has seen us score goals galore (compared to the last two seasons) with a win over Liverpool? I see no reason why not!
After our win at Anfield, you'd be forgiven for thinking they would have recovered by now. They haven't, with Roy Hodgson leaving by 'mutual consent' and the return of Kenny Dalglish. Since 'King Kenny's' appointment, they are yet to win, with a draw and two defeats under his stewardship.
His return has given the club a bit of a lift, but not enough to see them start winning and playing anywhere near the level you would expect a team with their players to play at. They also come to Molineux without two of their most influential players in Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard.Oh, and an awful away record.
We will be in a very positive mood, boosted by the return of key players and two good performances with plenty of goals. Karl Henry will be back to captain the side and hold in the middle of midfield, something we have needed desperately since him and Mancienne got injured. Jody Craddock will be on the bench as will ex Liverpool youngster Adam Hammill, our latest recruit.
I like the sound of this guy, he certainly has the skill and ability. What we will soon find out is whether he has the work rate and final ball to be a key player for us. He gives us plenty of competition on the flanks, which we have lacked in the past few years. It's also the perfect game for him to make his debut. Coming on as a sub to face the team who let him go without an appearance, he has a point to prove.
A partnership of Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher is as good as many teams in the bottom half, they are now fit and we can finally see what our £13 million strike force can produce.
So the team:
Hennessey
Mouyokolo
Stearman
Berra
Zubar
Jarvis
Henry
Milijas
Hunt
Doyle
Fletcher
That is very near what a full strength team, for me, looks like. If Kevin Foley is fit he can come in at right back, but Mouyokolo has shown he can deputise there until he comes back. Zubar at left back looks exactly like the Zubar at right back, which could finally see us fix that problem.
If you are going, roar on the lads and have a great time. I'm predicting a high-scoring draw, 2-2.
