Wolves sign Roger Johnson!

It's official, Wolves have revealed the signing of centre back Roger Johnson.

Needless to say I'm chuffed.

This was the signing we all wanted, as soon as 'survival sunday' ended. Finally now we seem to have a commanding, strong centre back at his prime.

Roger, meet our captain Karl.
And it doesn't look like he is signing for the £7 million fee that was reported either, as Jez reckon. If it was a record transfer fee, I'm sure they would have said that. Have we got ourselves a bargain?

It will be interesting to see who he partners too. The most obvious choice, for me, would be Richard Stearman. Stearman has the pace and composure on the ball to slot in next to Johnson. I'm not sure that's Mick's plan though, we have been heavily linked with Matthew Upson and if he were to sign he would be an automatic first choice.

For now though, let's just be pleased we have significantly strengthened our defence! Would you be happy if he was our ONLY defensive signing?

This is brilliant news - all the more reason to feel optimistic about the new season! :)

Hopefully, Johnson and maybe one other good signing will cut out the lost last-minute points from last season
